Last week, my Young Adult Literature class finished reading a book about a girl [the author] growing up in Iran during the Islamic Revolution. Her name is Marjane (nn Marji). I've found myself completely enamored with this name, although I highly doubt I'd ever actually use it on my own kids.

What do you think?

(And before anyone asks, the book is Persepolis and I highly recommend it.)

I like it in the context of the book. Not sure I'd use it, but it's pretty.

I really like it a lot... To the point where I'm trying it with middle names and my last name =)

there are 2 pronunciation variations to this Persian name: mar-jahn and mar-jahn-eh. It means "coral".

I like it.
