I used to think of the name Jaden* as one of those names that you hear all about on the internet, but heaven forbid any *real* people actually use! I haven't met one yet, thank God, but a bit over a year ago, my husband's best friend ended up with a little nephew named Jaden. and then just recently, a friend of my mom's revealed she has a relative (not sure the relation) named Jaden, too!

I know this seems like a silly thing to post about, since, you know, all those internet people who use it are real people somewhere, but still.. I'm not even sure how I'd react to someone intruducing me to their kid if it were named Jaden. it's my #1 most-hated name. I just hope I wouldn't puke on them. but if I did, I suppose I could blame the pregnancy *points at icon* not that I'll have that excuse forever...

*or Jayden, Jaiden, Jadyn, etc...

I despise the name as well.

My ex's son is named Jayden. I thought it was okay...at first...and now after seeing and hearing of countless boys and girls named it...I can't stand it either.

That's kind of rude, actually. Very rude.

I don't like it either, though.

I love your icon. Did you make it yourself?

First of all, your icon wins my soul.

Second. I thought the same of Jaden, and then my little cousin started preschool. AAAARRRGGGH. She has three Jadens in her class (actually two Jadens and a Jaedyn, naturally)--two of them are girls, and the one with the Y is a boy. Which is even worse in my opinion because adding a Y to a name seems feminine to me.

I don't know, I just don't understand this name. Its charm is completely lost on me. It doesn't look or sound good, and it's, you know, made up. I keep apologizing to everyone who likes it, which a lot of people seem to, but honestly, it's one of the few names I absolutely hate.

I know personally 4 children named that.

Jaden - boy
Jadynn - girl
Jaedon - boy
Jayden - boy

Thankfully the first two were before the naming trend, so I dont totally hate the name.

Hehe ;) I kind of like the name Jayden but would never use it. I came across one last week actually.. a little boy in my daughter's pre-school. I'd only ever heard of them online before that!

I used to babysit a baby Jayden when I was in high school. He's 7 or 8 now. I still see him every day because he goes to the school where I work.

There was a Jayden in a kindergarten I worked at last year, along with Brayden, Hayden and Kayden....

Right now, in my infant room at work I have a Jaiden, Jayden, and Jaden, and Aiden, and Caden.

What exactly are you reffering to as rude?

I totally know what you mean about not expecting to hear any actual people using the name. I was like that with all of the -adens. But then my cousin had a baby named Caiden and my boyfriend's brother had an Aiden ("because we wanted something unique!"). I haven't come across any Jadens though.

Oh and I love how people have come up with like 19 different ways to spell it. I see a new one everytime I read one of these threads. Jaedon?

OMG I know what you mean. All the -aden names seemed like names I'd never actually hear IRL esp cause I don't have a baby or hang out with people who have babies really, BUTTTTT every baby I do come across seems to have one of those names! My cousin had a baby Caiden, a girl I vaguely know from poker is having a baby (girl) Jaden, I went to a party with my ex and there were three babies... a Jaden, a Caiden, and something else.

I know many, MANY babies/kids with this name... (I have 2nd cousins [brothers] named: Jayden & Kayden... sick, eh?).

There are worse names IMO... but it's still definatly not a top choice of mine, personally.

I really love the name Aidan. But there it goes, down the toilet. Ah, well.

And I have to chip in further and say that the worst spellings of Jaden have a y in them. HATE.

Yeah. ; ; I can't understand the thought process behind this at all.

I know of two little Jadens. One is....the sort of person I would expect to name their child Jaden.

The other is the child of a really neat, intelligent friend of mine and I can not comprehend how he wound up choosing that name for his son. ; ;

I know three Jaidens. One girl and two boys. They're all in the daycare center I work at.

It's not a cute name.

LOL. I had something like your little scenerio happen to me! I was in a Gymboree class and there was a little boy with a nametag that read Jayden. I was like Why the Effin hell did you go and name your kid that??? LOL But I just smiled and said hi like a normal person. :)

Yes that's the same as how I am with Nevaeh - I still haven't met anyone with this name in real life and I will probably faint if/when I do. It seems like a "people over the internet/in america only" name.

I agree, I only view Aidan as a name that is too popular, but I don't think of it really in the same class as all the "-aden" names.

I like the trend. ^.^ I don't see the big deal. It's not like people are commonly naming their children Sunshinespacetweezers and Mycatsatabby or horrid things. Jaden is a clean looking name. Oh well.

I like the name Jaden. I wouldn't use it though, since I don't really want my daughter to come in contact with 500 other girls/boys with the same name.

I went to school most of my life with a girl named Jadaia. (Juh-day-uh). I always thought her name was pretty. I guess it's sort of the same thing, or may be the reason behind my Jade kick.

I heard the name Jayla awhile back and loved it, but thought I liked it better with the -den. Fast forward a few months, and I come to find that it's insanely popular and becoming hated for that reason. I still like the name (though it's losing it's appeal the more I hear it) but I just couldn't use it now.

Thank the lord for the internet... otherwise I might have a Jaiden in a few months...
