Lol, I guess I just dont have that predisposition to Celia, but I sure as hell cant think of a MN for it!!
Im loving Fergus right now, but I think if we dont give a nickname (always call him Fergus) most people would eventually understand that Gus is a horrible nickname, lol.
LOL Peaches is funny. Apple is okay to me. It depends on the day, honestly. Some days I go, "Wow, that's an odd, odd, baby name. What the hell?" and some days I don't think it's that bad.
I can understand; Apple can sometimes be an approriate "new age" sort of name. But Peaches...or what was the other one.....Trixabelle? Holy crap, famous people come up with the weirdest stuff, lmao.
We like Clara, but does it sound stupid for me to say its popular if its number like...240-something on the SS names list? We've got a list of names and just throwing stuff around right now.
I dont think its stupid. Personally I dont think that is really popular. I try and stay away from popular names but THomas and Lily are on my list just becuase I love them to much, so obviously popularity isnt that big of issue with me.
I def try to stay away from "popular" names. Even those classics like John and Michael, because even though theyre classics, theyre still overused. Im a HUGE fan of the name Lillian, btw and I think Lilly is such a cute nickname.
I think Ferguson wouldnt work so well with our last name; Toomey. Itd be like having two last names instead of one, ya know? And I suppose Im rolling the R moreso than others, which makes me like it. If that makes any sense at all ack.
The husband and I are pretty keen on having an Irish/Celtic/Scottish/Welsh name for a boy. Plus, Im having a much harder time trying to find boy names we both agree on.
I love both the names because when I worked at an elderly home, there were two little old ladies who were best friends (and roomies) named Celia and Clara. And you would never find one without the other :)
i really like clara, not a huge fan of celia. angus does remind me of cow, hehe, and i don't like fergus at all...it reminds me of fergie, but that might be because i'm british, haha.
don't like celia. clara is ok, though it is the x-wife of my grat-grampa's brother, and back then nobody got divorced so it was alll over the newspapers. she cheated on him with his friend, then left him.
angus is fine but very ethnic. fergus is a last name. I knew twins with this last name, one was a good friend of my cousin.
People have suggested Ferguson instead of Fergus, but then I think....Why would I want my son to have TWO last names instead of a FN and a LN? I always wonder about that sort of thing...
Hahahaha, ohhh if only. Sadly, the hubby is a Marine, so anything "french" related would get nixed. But anything to do with salt or sodium would get the okay from him! HA!
