Name options/opinions

So here I am 26 weeks pregnant today and still no luck with picking out a name. I feel the days ticking by and I feel like such a looser not actually picking something yet soooooooo here are my name options so far I will do a poll later once I have only a few. These are in no real order.

Kerian (name of my godson who died at 7 months old)
Quinn (I keep putting this as a middle name but I like it for first as well)
Dante
Jonas
Lucius
Zachary (I like it but it's in the top 25 for names and I'm trying to stay away from popular names)


So with these names in mind any other suggestions that I'm not thinking of? Opinions on these names?

Oh and my husband has it in his head that Forge is a great middle name what do you think?

I always mix up the ir in Keiran

And I've emailed her - I'm the godmother of her daughter now but we don't talk as much as we use to. Still waiting to hear back from her. I will understand if she would rather I not it's just an idea right now.

Ah, I like Keiran too, it reminds me of the Caulkin kid, and I like him.

If she's hesitant about you using it as a first name, maybe you make it a second middle name?

Kerian - Not really my style... I don't know if I'd want to name a baby after a deceased child also.
Quinn - Love it for a boy or a girl :)
Dante - I actually really like this name
Jonas - Reminds me of "The Giver", which makes me like it.
Lucius - Not for me.
Zachary - Future babies middle name, love it..

Zachary Quinn is really nice IMO.

Yah Zachary is really popular with people which means it's a bit too popular for my taste but I'm an odd duck. Not that I want my kid with a screwed up name I just wanted something not used so much these days you know.....

I like Dante it's growing on me but we'll see how it goes.

Yah I've been putting Zachary back in there even though it is in the top 25 of popular names. I grew up with 3 other girls with my name in class and hated getting my last name attached you know. Silly really when I think about it but it's just something I've thought about.

Yah the more I think about it Keiran may not be the best. It was a good gesture but having to tell him where his name came from may freak him out. I have to remember that my child may not get my morbid personality :)

Keiran just died so young (7 months old, cancer) and I was there for so much of it. Granted this was almost 10 years ago but it really touched me and I always wanted to honor him in some way.

What do you think of Desmond? Hubby likes that one and I do like it but am unsure.

Kerian - Nice.
Quinn - Only for a girl.
Dante - Reminds me too much of Dante's Inferno.
Jonas - Like it.
Lucius - People will always ask if you're a Harry Potter fan if you name him this.
Zachary - I don't like this name, but mostly because the association I have with it. That and I'm not into Z names.

I adore the name Lucius, but I've never read/watched ANY HP... I didn't know it was used in there. That kind of ruins it for me :/ luckily I still have Julian, Julius, and Lucian. lol.

Keiran (I messed up the spelling typing to fast when I wrote in) is nice thanks for agreeing most don't like it.

I know 2 male Quinn's and never even thought of it for a girl's name.

Dante is actually from Dante's Inferno and then I just remembered that Dante Hicks is the character in Clerks which cracks me up that it did not dawn on my sooner.

Jonas is simple and sweet it's up there now for a could be on the list.

Lucius - what's funny is that it's not. My very first OB appt. there was the sweetest little boy sitting next to me and I ask his parents what his name was they said Lucius and I loved it. It was not until I told hubby when I came home that I remembered where the name could be from. I think it's out sadly too many people say silly things when I say the name :(

Wow someone who does not like Zachary - most everyone loves it. It's almost too normal/popular for me these days.

What do you think of Desmond?

I dislike Zachary mostly because of the association. If all the Zachs I've met in my life hadn't been asshats, I might like it.

I like Desmond, but more for a character in a book than for a child.

Quinn, I've never been a fan of. Personally, it just strikes me as weak with a lopsided grin, or something. Somehow.

Dante, Jonas, and Zachary, I love. The latter two are ones I've considered in the past for my own child some day. I love biblical names, despite not being religious. They seem so established and just, strong, to me.

Lucius and Kerian I can appreciate. I wouldn't name my son either, but still.

Do you know how hard it is to NOT get a biblical name? We're not religious and it seems every name I like has something going back to the bible I was trying to stay away from such names first but I've given up.

I also have Isaac and Desmond on my list I forgot to post those as well.

Dante has been growing on my lately.
I was partial to the name before and recently I found out that my grandmother's brother's name was Dante.

I just like it.

Sweet! I'm liking Dante the more I say it. And Jonas but when I told my brother Jonas he started singing that old Weezer song "My name is Jonasssssss" and now I cannot get it out of my head.

I don't think it's appropriate to use the name of someone else's child who has passed away. It's already considered a bit rude to use a name that a close friend has named a child. Yet I think that is even worse when the child is no longer living. The name would still bring up strong associations in that mother's mind, and I don't think it would be nice for her to think of another little boy as Kieran, it would just make her think of her own son and how he's no longer alive. As a middle name it's completely different though, that way it's more like a tribute, since nobody actually gets called their middle name. So, as a middle name I think it is ok, but not in good taste as a first name.

Forge... well, if he turns out as a fraudulent criminal it's not his fault, his dad called him Forge! It just makes me think of forging signatures. Quinn is a good middle name.

I think any of those names are good, you can't really go wrong, as long as you like them!

Kerian -- Is it pronounced KEER-ee-an? I would find the connection to a dead baby too morbid.
Quinn -- Love
Dante -- Eh. Sounds pretentious to me.
Jonas - Love
Lucius - Isn't this Draco Malfoy's dad? Either way, I don't like it.
Zachary -- Like a lot but it is pretty common.

I think Forge is... weird. But as a mn, whatever. I don't really concern myself with middle names because honestly, how often do people hear them?

Kerian - very nice, but would your godson's parents mind? could be a touchy subject

Ok see you're the only one who voted for Lucius - I love it but it almost sounds too girly I don't want the poor kid getting teased. I have not heard back from the parent and the more I think about it the more I think it was a great idea but not a great thing to do which is sad - I always wanted to honor him in some way he was such a sweet sweet child.

Oh I love Quintin but my husband's face everytime I say Quintin is just not a good thing.

Kerian (name of my godson who died at 7 months old)- bit too heavy for a baby if it brings up sad memories. I like Kairon, Kiran, Kyran.. however youd spell it! ky-ran lots more..
Quinn- love love love as a middle name for a girl. I do like it on a boy though just not as much.

Jonas- looks like jones typed to me. prefer jonah.
Lucius= Lucas? or Lucias.. i love lucas its m number 1. lucius not to much, reminds me of lucifer like the devil.
Zachary - like, dont think its tooo popular where i am.
