Isaiah (Zaye)

In Trader Joe's today I saw a little baby and his mother. We chatted in line for a few minutes, and I asked the name of her son. "Isaiah," she said, "Zaye for short."

I actually like it. I've always loved the name Isaiah. Zaye seems to be the best and most adorable nickname I've ever heard for the name. The reason I chose against it for my alienmonkey is because I couldn't think of a great nickname for it.

Now I've found a name I like, with a nickname I adore.

And my current name choice [Gideon Elijah] doesn't have many attracted nick name choices, although it wouldn't be that huge of a deal, because I find the name Gideon perfect as it is.

So which do you prefer...

Gideon Elijah
Or Isaiah Jack

Isaiah Jack, but I don't like the way Isaiah flows (or doesn't, in this case) with Jack. I don't like the awkward A sounds.

What about Isaiah Gideon? I love Gideon!

Another nickname for Isaiah is Eyez - pronounced Eyes. I have a friend we call that.

also, if you want to call him Zaye--Zaye Jack sounds like a cleaning product.

Gideon Elijah. I can't stand the name Isaiah.

Isaiah Jack is wonderful. Gideon Isaiah or Isaiah Gideon also sound nice though I know they're not in your choices listed.

And hey, you're back! Forgive me for being nosy but if I remember right last time you posted you found out you were pregnant...how are things going?

(oh and if you haven't been gone then ignore me haha, I just don't remember seeing you post or comment lately.)

I think both choices are equally beautiful names. But out of purely personal preferance, I like Issiah more than Gideon.

I can remember you loving the name Gideon as long as I can recall your posts on this forum... so I lean towards that simply for that reason. But otherwise I think I like them both equally.

I'm not a big fan of Gideon but I think Gideon Elijah flows better than Isaiah Jack. Isaiah Jackson might work depending on the last name if that's not too different for you.

I like Isaiah Jack better.

I've always loved the name Isaiah. It would certainly be at the top of our list if it weren't for the fact that it is so popular. I also like Jack; but, I believe that name is even more common.

I don't know. My feelings about name popularity are wavering right now. I'm not sure that I care about that sort of thing much anymore.

Either way, I love the nickname Zaye! :)

I like Isaiah Jack.

I'm sick of seeing Elijah everywhere. It pops up on EVERYONE'S list. Gideon seems to be gaining popularity as well. I think Gideon Elijah screams early millenium baby. Isaiah Jack is more timeless. And Zaye is a cute nn... I don't normally like Z or X names (Zander/Xander, etc) but this is okay.

Isaiah Jack. The no-nickname thing is a point against Gideon for me, and Zaye's very cute.

I like Gideon Elijah.

Isaiah Jack. (But how do you pronounce Isaiah?)

You don't know how much I hate Gideon, hon. But I love Elijah :)
