[identity profile] -------1997.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
My boss' son had a baby last year and his step-daughter had a baby a couple of weeks ago, both girls.

WDYT of the names: Keira Alexis Anne & Jordan Cadence?

I'm iffy.

Ugh. I like Alexis Anne, I don't really like the double middle name for some reason, which is weird, because I usually do. I have a 2X MN, and my kid likely will, too.

Also, since when is Cadence a name? Is it the kre8tyve way to spell Candace these days? I mean, in addition to all the trashy spellings that already exist?

It's a different name than Candace all together.

Cadence, like in music/language. :)

Right, I get that. But since when is it a name?

I know what the word means, I just wouldn't want to name my kid...um, pace, basically, though I suppose that's a name, too.

I think of the salsa for Pace, lol.

It seems like it's gotten really popular in the last few years, probably riding off of the "kay-" names trend (kaylee, kaylyn, caitlin, etc.).

My little sister had a friend named Cadence who was born in 88 or 89, so I know at least someone was using it back then, but I also remember her being the only person with that name then.

I realized Cadence was being used as a name sometime last spring, and thought I'd died and gone to hell. Now I'm used to it, but it's still very meh.

LOL, never thought of it like that - Kay dense.

See, I come from the philosophy that words can be names.

:-D

Jordan is kind of eh to me - overused. Cadence is nice, but I prefer K's.

Keira Alexis is nice! That's the exact name my sister (who is ttc) was thinking for a girl.

Jordan is very much a girl's name to me now and Alexis always was.

To me, I said/meant. Sorry if that wasn't clear.

Keira Alexis Anne I like.

I don't like Jordan Cadence, I think it's too trendy.

Absolutely NMSAA.

But at the same time I don't think they are awful. Just about as far from my taste on the scale of decent names as you can get, imo anyway.

Jordan still seems so boyish to me. When I first saw these names, I thought to myself, "Uh oh. Someone used Cadence on a boy!"

They're both very trendy, but I do love Keira. I hate Jordan on a girl and I hate Cadence.

I'll be honest, I cant stand any of them. Ive never liked Jordan as a girls name, nor Cadence. I dont even know where to begin with the first name.

Neither is really my taste. Keira isn't awful, though I prefer the spelling Kira.

Keira Alexis is lovely!! I think I prefer Kira, but the whole name flows wonderfully! :D That's my favourite of the pair. Jordan Cadence ... is not my style I don't think.
