So my husband and I are expecting our first baby in November, and we're determined not to find out the sex until the birth.
We've already chosen both our girl and our boy name and now I'm trying to decide middle names. That's where you come in.
For a girl we've chosen: Liliana (lil-ee-ON-uh)
For a boy we've chosen: Jonah (not hard to pronounce)
Our last name is one syllable (Brown), so for Liliana I would like a middle name with either 2 or 3 syllables, and with the emphasis on the first syllable (i.e. Avery or Charity..but I don't like Charity..I'm just giving examples). Also I want to stay away from a middle name that ends in "uh" because the first name is enough "uh" for the whole name. : )
Jonah's middle name I guess is easier. 2, 3 or 4 syllables would work, and it doesn't matter to me where the emphasis is. I am playing around with Elias (ee-LY-us).
Any suggestions you have to throw at me would be much appreciated!

Date: 2005-03-31 11:29 am (UTC)I really like Liliana Madeline! Arthur is my dad's middle name..I don't love it, but it does sound nice.

Date: 2005-03-30 07:35 pm (UTC)For Jonah I'd choose something like Christopher, that's longer, and begins with a consonant, and something that's not so biblical.

Thanks for the suggestions!

Date: 2005-03-31 07:52 am (UTC)Liliana Faith is actually my favorite combination, but it doesn't sound right with the last name. :/
Thank you for the ideas though! Liliana Rachel is really pretty.

Date: 2005-04-02 09:23 pm (UTC)It's so funny too because when I picked Liliana and started thinking of middle names (and this was even before we were pregnant) the one I liked most and thought fit best was "Justice"...because Justine has the emphasis on the second syllable and Justice has it on the first. But no one else seems crazy about it. :/
I also really like Liliana Mirabel.

Date: 2005-04-23 12:30 pm (UTC)I really like Jonah. That name was one in the running for me. That or Owen. My husband likes Cecil (80-year old man being born!) and Jack. We already have a Caleb Kenneth and a Graham Andrew.
Hopefully we have a girl. Things would be easier then.
Ooh, I've rambled!

Date: 2005-05-01 11:12 pm (UTC)We can't find out the sex where we live (near Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada)...it's against the law. Many people were suing the ultrasound techs due to false predictions and we live in an area in which many "gender-specific" abortions were being conducted. So we're hooped. I'd love to find out, but I'd have to pay quite a bit and travel about four hours.
He's leaning more toward Owen right now, for which I'm quite ecstatic. I'd really like to have a girl, though...we agree on the one name we've had picked for a daughter!
