Hello, I am new to the group :).
I'm not pregnant but my fiance and I are already fighting over names.
He likes the name Axel. That was his grandpa's name. I had a cat named Axel once and everyone kept telling me the name sounded like "asshole". I'm worried a child with that name would be constantly made fun of. What do you all think?.
For a girls name my fiance wants Eva (sounds like Ava) but I think that the spelling is misleading and will cause confusion.
Is using the name Hazel too old?. Or Neeva?. My grandma is Hazel and I've always loved that name, even though she hates it and doesn't use it haha.
Looking forward to chatting with you all :).

But that's the main leads name, Axel Rose. I really like it but then I'm biased as I'm a 1/4 German.

OH well, can't win them all. I don't like him either but it's just a name to me.

Well, back in my younger days (Eh, early 90's) I loved Gun's and Roses and probably would of came up with something like Axel for a baby name. ;D But then again I thought my future child would HAVE to be named Ringo, ha.

I still think it's an okay name though!

And Hazel is pretty. :)

Axel is a german name. My husband's boss's name is Axel. I like the name, and I never ever gotten it mixed up with asshole. I like the name Axel for a man. But then I'm 1/4 german and I like a lot of German names.

I like the name Axel. I know a kid named Axel and he never got made fun of for it.

I don't like Axel. At all.

I like Eva and Ava, but pronounced the way they look. If you want it to sound like Ava, name her Ava.

I sort of like Hazel as a middle name.

You could Hazel, but maybe as a middle name? Cause it does sound old but not so much that you shouldn't use it at all...you know? Axel makes me think of a car. LOL. So that's probably no good. As for Eva and Neeva--not liking either one. They sound too weird for me.

I like Hazel.

It is an "old fashioned" name, you don't hear it used very much, so that's why I like it.

I love the name Neeva, it is my niece's name. Until her, I'd never heard the name before.

:)

Even though Axel does make me think of Guns N Roses, it has meaning to your fiance, so that makes it special.

I really like Eva/Ava. My step daughter's name is Avanua (Uh-Vhan-Uh) and I call her Ava (Aye-Vah) for short.

The name Axel reminds of Axel Rose, from Guns n Roses. I like the music and the name but when it also reminds of a guy that drinks and abuses drugs. Ava/Eva are nice names for a girl though. Hazel is an old fashion name and it's not that common either just like the name Ethel.

yeah Axel=Guns N Roses to me. Or at least that's what I thought of when I saw the name Axel. I do like the names Hazel, Neeva and Ava. They don't sound to old to me. :)

LOVE Eva...but not crazy about Ava...go figure! :) Hazel would be fine to use...Eva Hazel??? :)

I know an Axel..."asshole" would have never crossed my mind...good luck! :)
