[identity profile] poespretty.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
I hardly ever post here, now it's two times within a week I think.

I had my ultrasound today and much to my delight (and my husband's horror) we're having a GIRL!

We ultimately decided on using Georgia for her first name.  Now the trouble of the middle name. That's where you guys hopefully come in.

Our last name is Bergin so nothing that starts with A (initials would be GAB-  please if you think of anything else terrible, let me know).  My husband tends to prefer one syllable middle names, with more... masculine leanings, I guess  you could say (our first daughter's middle name is Drew).  that doesn't necessarily exclude all other names, just one thing to consider.

He's already nixed Claire, Faith and Tess.  the only other considerations right now are Kate, which I really am not sold on or Rose which is my grandma's middle name.

any suggestions?

I love Rose (it's mine and my Grandma's middle names hehe) but I am no use at picking out girlie names, I just know that if this baby was to be a girl it's middle name would be Rose lol. Luckily I am having a boy, and I find boy things easier!

I LOOOOOVE Georgia Rose (it's kind of like a Georgia Peach!) because my name is Rose, and even though I am from the pacific northwest, I think I would fit in in Georgia perfectly. I wish I was a southern belle.

Georgia Kay
Georgia Kim
Georgia Kelly
Georgia Erin
Georgia Robin
Georgia Shay (I hate the name Shay, btw. Awful.)

Aw, I'm glad that you like it :)! It's pretty masculine sounding as well, so I hope that it strikes his fancy as well, I think the names sound fabulous together.

I wouldn't have a J name (e.g. Georgia Joy) because it's such a mouthful. It feels like I'm chewing something.. "jojojojojojojo"

I really like Georgia Kate, and Rose is always pretty especially if it means something to you.

I just have to say Georgia is one of those names I really like, but would probably never use. Good choice!

I'd break into the world of names with more than one syllable. I'm incapable of understanding peoples' obsession with one syllable filler names. Blah. Pick something beautiful from the thousand of names out there! A middle name is an opportunity to use so many great names that you maybe couldn't get away with as first names. Don't try to settle on one of these little nothing names that obviously aren't rocking your world.

But to play along with the wishes of dh, one one syllable masculine name for girls I like is Dale.
