Ive recently found out im having a girl much to my suprise. I was convinced it was a boy so now im stuck, all those names i initially liked for girls, i dont like anymore. The only ones i like are:

Peyton (or Paten)
Ayla (or isla)

im truly stuck. It needs to go with Turkozu as a surname, help?

Ayla Turkozu would be really nice. I think a name with more vowelly sounds will sound better with the last name than a name with a lot of consonant sounds will. Peyton Turkozu sounds really busy, you know? Too much going on. But Ayla Turkozu... it's got a lighter feel to it, more euphonic.

Peyton is trendy and ugly and annoying.

But beyond my personal dislike of the name, I see it as very apple-pie American. It sounds odd with a last name like Turkozu, which I think calls for a more... cosmopolitan or universal? sort of name. (I'm not saying anything about whether people from other backgrounds are "American" or not - obviously, yes, that goes without saying - although I'm Canadian, and we tend to have a slightly different sense of multiculturalism, I think. All I'm talking about is that it sounds off.)

I like Ayla or Isla much, much better, not only because these names are lovely, but also because they sound much better with the last name.

Are you pronouncing Ayla to rhyme with Kayla or to rhyme with Kyla?

Payton/Peyton/Paton is AWFUL. Please don't use it.

Ayla/Isla is pretty.

What about... Ellia, Astrid, Eliza, Amalia

Ayla is gorgeous! I'm not such a big fan of Peyton/Paten, on the other hand...

Isla is nice.

I don't think Ayla is pronounced like Isla, so I can't whole-heartedly agree that one. But I do still think Ayla (AY-la) is nice with the last name.

I agree with those who think that Ayla is not the same as Isla. I tried as hard as I can to read Ayla as "eye-la" and just can't. "Ay" just so strongly sounds like "AY rhyming with hay" to me.

Isla is beautiful though, and I agree it sounds a million times better with your last name than Peyton does.

Peyton is really trendy.
I LOVE Isla sooooo much.

Go on a babyname website and just trawl through the list, takes a long time but it's fun :-)
