Hi! I'm not pregnant or TTC, and am not seeing children in the future...like, ever. But I've always loved coming up with names.

Now, I'm very traditional, and do NOT like creative or trendy names. I'm not a big fan of names that mean something special, such as names that mean innocence or...well, you get the picture. They always sound very bizarre.

I was born and raised in Georgia, and having now been uprooted (thanks to the Air Force) to California, I want to stay true to my roots. I LOVE the names Georgia, Savannah, and Augusta. The hubby doesn't like Augusta because he was at Ft. Gordon, GA, which is in Augusta for the last half of his tech school, heh.

My Dad's side of the family is very Italian. My Papa's name was Stephen Anthony. He and my grandmother named their kids after him (Stephen Jr., Anthony, and Stephanie), but named my Dad Michael. Obviously they had an Italian theme. I'd like to do the same, as my husband is Italian as well. I very much would like to name a son Stephen. Not only because of my Papa, who was the most amazing man to ever grace us with his presence, but because a little over a year ago, a friend of mine died "car surfing." His name was Stephen as well. He was a phenomenal person as well.

Obviously, I've wanted to have special reasons for names. Georgia, Italian.. and the last one is family. My husband's name is Kyle, and since I've met him, I wanted to name a daughter Kyleigh or Kylie. I've looked up the meaning of this name, and it means "boomerang" which made me giggle, lol. Yet Kyle is Scottish for like.. some noble meaning or something. How weird is that? Anywho... My Mom's name is Rhonda Lynn, and I'd like to use the name Lynn in a name, but I fear it's a little dated. My Grandfather's name (Mom's side) is Daryl Richard, and I'd like to use the name Richard. My Grandmother (again, Mom's side) is Sandra Annette, and I'd like to use the name Annette. Blah blah blah.

My name is Kristin, by the way. My Mom didn't pick it for any reason other than the fact that she heard it on the show Dallas and liked it. We always joke about the fact that I was the one to shoot J.R. LOL! In fact, while playing Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? on the computer, a high-dollar question was "Who shot J.R.?" That was soo funny!

Anywho.. I'm rambling. Share your thoughts or whatever.

I only like the idea of using names to honour somebody if you like the name enough to use it regardless. People should have their own first names. Middle names are whatever..
Kyle & Kylie after their dad Kyle bothers me so much, i really hate matchy matchy names.
