Several questions in one

1) I've adored Autumn as a name since, hmm September. I like the subtle hippyish vibe. It's my favourite season, but I'd happily use it whatever time of year she was born, irony amuses me.
What do you think of it?

Which combo do you like best from this list ...
Autumn Bronwen [to honour my Welsh heritage]
Autumn Bryony [sort of after a friend]
Autumn Clair [my given mn, spelling is non-negotiable]
Autumn Elise [has various aspects of signficance]
Or something else?

Oh and while I think of it; if I went with Autumn Bronwen/Bryony would Abi be too much of a stretch as a nickname?
(Yes my surname starts with I, and if I were to marry the kid's surname would probably be [my surname]-[DHs surname].)


2) I always swore I'd never name a child after a character of mine. In case they got a complex about not living up to (or perhaps living down) the character's personality. Which has been fine, I normally use names I like but wouldn't use IRL anyway.
Anyway I've fallen hard for the name Faye, though of course have a well established character named Fae, there's no way my kids (and hopefully the general public) wouldn't know about her.

So, do you think I'm over analysing?
Would it bother you to be named after an attractive if slightly 'eccentric' computer genius who is a figment of your mother's imagination?

Felix is a great name too, but far as namesakes go I am going to have to draw the line at 'cross dressing bisexual murderer'. LOL


3) My family have an adorable black cocker spaniel puppy, and of course I named him. :)
It was a really easy choice; Charlie to honour my maternal great grandfather, and Cash as in Johnny (I was watching 'walk the line' and thought it'd be clever).
Now there have been preliminary ponderings about adopting another pup next year. Which I'm very happy about, but am having trouble with names this time around.

Boys = Felix, Finn, Henry, Jonas 'Joey', Loki, Rhys
Girls = Abby, Ciara [keer-uh], Layla, Ziva (yes I am an NCIS fangirl)

So, which would you pick? ... any other suggests/comments?

I love Faye, and the choice of middle name I'd pick to go with Autumn is probably Elise.

I like Bronwen but don't think it sounds great with Autumn. Not overly keen on Clair either. I like Autumn Bryony a lot, and Autumn Elise is very nice too.

I have no idea how much your kid would know about the characters you create and in what context you create them, so no answer about the Faye question. :-)

Bronwen is one of my favorite names. :D Autumn Bronwen sounds a bit strange to me though, because they both end with an N. Autumn Faye sounds beautiful! Though I'd spell it the way you spelled your character's name. And no, I don't think I'd be weirded out if my mom named me after a character of hers. My mom and dad named me on a whim and my name has no real meaning to it and I hate it. At least you would have a good story. :)

Autumn Elise!!! love love love it. Sounds like Autumn leaves :-) Autumn Clair is also nice.

I dont think Abi works as a nn really.

Faye is very pretty but i bit unexciting for a first name, wonderful middle IMO. I'd name it after a character, no worries.. funny name story, she'll love it!

Felix is a cats name! Calling a dog felix would be so wrong!
