Question for the BoSox fans
Oct. 22nd, 2006 05:28 pmTrying to get my boyfriend off of the name Trot, by using Red Sox greats with names I like.
So here's my question, would you, as a BoSox fan, ever name your son after Wade Anthony Boggs? I'm not asking if you like the name Wade, keep in mind if you don't that it's a hell of a lot better than Trot.
My reasoning, if you're a Sox fan, but don't know why I might NOT use this name is because he signed to the Yankees when he was a free agent in 1992. BUT he did request to be traded in July of 1997.
He's considered a Red Sox Hall of Famer, I'm pretty sure in his HoF picture he's wearing a Red Sox cap, but his golden glove years were played in New York.
What about Nomar?

If your husband *has* to have a little BoSox fan, why not choose a name together, and have Wade as a middle name? Or Trot as a nickname?
Personally, I think giving your child the exact same first and middle name as a baseball player is a bit obsessive. But if both you and your husband are fine with it, that's all that matters.
