My mother's friend has a new granddaughter- her name is Salem. She was born on Friday the 13th; but, apparently, this name has been picked out since her mother was in high school.

What do you think? My mother loves it.

I think it is alright but it's not something that I would ever use.

I live in New Hampshire and the town next to me is called Salem. Also I live close to Salem, MA. I've never thought of this as a name because, only places, but I don't hate it.

We are in Southern NH, too. So, I'm assuming that she meant to reference the place. Not sure, though.
