When I have a daughter I'd like to name her Phoenix Raye (Raye is my mothers middle name so I want to give it to my daughter.) If I have a son I'd like to name him Mattix James (James is my husbands middle name.) What are your opinions on the names? I'm very set on Phoenix so I don't think I could change it but I'm still curious to hear some input. I'm open to any other suggestions you have. I like names that are unique but not completely out there, and ones that you know how to pronounce by looking at them. I also really like norse names and names with strong or powerful meanings, so if you have any suggestions I'd love to hear them.

I like Phoenix for a boy but I am doing that to this child, if It's a girl we'll be naming her after my mother, and my husband's grandmother. If it's a boy we'll be naming him after his best friend and giving him a hebrew name as my husband is 1/4 Jewish.
Girl: Madeline Dorothy (Madeline is my mother's middle name, Dorothy is his grandmother's first name.

Boy: Gabriel Maximilian (Gabe being Hebrew, and Maximilian being his best friend's name who taught him German)

I tend to like boys names on girls though. Like Dallas is beautiful and most people would say for a boy but I like it a lot for a girl. I'm just odd like that I suppose. lol

I like the name Phoenix but I get confused.... is it a girl's name or boy's name? I like the name cuz it's the name of a mystic bird made of fire (well I saw it on X-Men)

Most people would say Phoenix is a boys name but some sites list it as both a male and female name. Thank you for the links =)

I like the names Mattix and James together but I dunno about Mattix James. Maybe you could do James Mattix. or Phoenix James, if you wanna use Phoenix for a boy of course.

I think James is too common for a first name and I only like Phoenix for a girl. What do you think about Mattix Casey? Casey is my husbands first name and James is his middle. I'd like to include one or the other as a middle name. I'm kind of weird about middle names and don't think they need to go well with the first name since they're not used all the time. My fathers name is Wayne Francis, do you think Mattix Wayne or Mattix Francis sounds better than Mattix Casey or Mattix James? To be honest I'm not crazy about any of them but I like Mattix James the best.

I really like both names.....Phoenix Raye and Mattix James. Phoenix could be for a boy or girl. I'm with yah on the giving girls names that are "for" boys. I really like the spelling of Mattix and Raye. Great choices.
