What do you think about the name Kaylynn?

The boyfriend would want to spell it Kailynn.

The only boy's name he likes so far is Evan...but we already have a Devon so I don't think that would work out too well. Haha.

He has two kids from his exwife.
Maynard James & Carter Jaymes.

And I have Devon Joshua.

I'm Katherine Carol, and he's Jeffrey Alan, but goes by Jay.

Any suggestions would be helpful...He's pretty picky.

Kailynn is kind of pretty. Not a fan of Nicole; it's a trashy name to me (by my association, I'm sure).

Carter is nice, Devon was at one point long ago my favorite name so I still like it. Love Katherine and Jeffrey, as well as Jay. I like Evan a lot, but you're right - Devon and Evan? lol

kay-lihn where as Kailynn is more of a kail-in. I like the first pronunciation and, therefore, the first spelling.

I hate kaylynn (or any spelling variation and Kayley, Kay etc.). I think it's a bit trashy...
I like James though, but why are the middle names of both his children James and Jaymes? Isn't that the same name?
Evan is nice though. If he likes that maybe Ethan, but it's fairly popular.

Kailynn is pretty flimsy and insubstantial. It's like the off-brand diet soda of names. (How's that for a weird analogy.) I just don't like it at all sorry. Both K names and -lyn names are a dime of dozen, trendy as heck, and will rapidly date themselves.

I have no idea about suggestions, as I'm obviously coming from very different taste. What names do you like?

Honestly, Kailynn, and all the Kay- and -lyn names, are pretty tired right now. Very, very, VERY popular. Would you consider something less common, like:

Karina
Katya
Katrina
Kezia
Kerensa

A less common name would certainly suit Maynard better, and would be nice with Devon and Carter as well.

Kailynn Nicole goes wonderfully together. I Think its a beautiful name. My sisters middle name is Nicole, Krysten Nicole. Ive always liked her middle name. I prefer Kailynn spelled, Kaelyn.

Kailynn is going to be so so so dated when your daughter is older.
All the Lyn names are, except possibly Caitlin spelt like this,as it's a traditoinal name/spelling. Also i'd be tempted so say Kailynn is too similar to your own name.
If i had to i'd spell it Cailin.

The name Kailynn immediately makes me think of the song "Cailin" by Unwritten Law. According to some of the comments on SongMeanings.net, it was written by the lead singer for his daughter. I never knew that as I'm not particularly a fan but it's an alright an assosciation to make.

I could never take a Kaylynn or Kailynn seriously. It sounds made up, tacky, and insubstantial.
Plus it'll get lost in the sea of Kaylees, Kayleighs, Cadens, Jailynns, Kellys, and Kelseys, and all their various unfortunate spellings.

I graduated with a girl named Kaylin (that's how she spells it). shortlived also mentioned the song by Unwritten Law, which I adore. Yes, it may sound very trendee nowadays, but it could be a lot worse.

I wouldn't pair it with Nicole though, instead I'd pair it with something more unique and perhaps meaningful (is there anyone you'd like to honour)? I really like "Kaylin Alana" (Alana to honour dad's middle name, plus it's a beautiful name and it flows very well).
