How would you pronounce Zehra?
What do you think of the name?
Apparently the meaning is "radiating face" in Turkish.

The meaning made me laugh.

i don't like it. but i guess it's really close to zahra, which is my name- gotta represent! i've always liked it. i just don't like the 'eh' sound that you hear a lot in turkish.
i'd pronounce it exactly how it's spelled. zeh-ra, as opposed to za-ra.
according to behindthename.com zahra means 'brilliant, bright' in arabic. i've heard 'radiance' as well (never 'radiating face', haha!) and i know it also means rose. i like all of those meanings anyway.

I think it's the way you worded it. "Radiant face" would have probably struck me as less funny.

I'd say it Zeh-rah
and I'm not too keen on it.
I like [livejournal.com profile] tokossel's name better

I'd say it like Sarah with a Z. I like it OK but I lika Zara and Zahra better.

The Zehra I know pronounces it like Sarah, but with a Z, like [livejournal.com profile] neuraltube says.

There was a Turkish singer in the 40's named Zehra Bilir and I like her so I like the name.

Either like Sarah w/ a Z or as Zay-rah.

I like it! I like a few Turkish girls' names. I'm particularly partial to Berna. It was my childhood friend's name.

I kind of like it, though I prefer Sarah or Zara.

and it is pronounce exactly as it's written, you have to pronounce each letter (including the H). So it doesn't just sound like Sarah with a z.
