What is the most obnoxious or out-of-there name your significant other has thought of for naming your kid? My husband is dead set on naming our next child (if its a girl) Maren. From watching Braveheart. He's completely against any other names now after hearing that one. I don't really mind it, other than the fact that my name is Mary and Maren is a form of it...

I just wonder if it's a guy thing... my sister's boyfriend wants to name their next child Rocky after his favorite movies. hmmm.

My dad wanted to name me Guy (in French its pronounced like Gee- with a hard G sound) if I was a boy.

my boyfriend wanted to name our baby Anakin, and i put a stop to that, so he tried to convince me that we should name him blaze.. Thankfully, I have my wits about me, and our sons name will be Jarrod Michael

I don't have an SO, but my brother has considered using Barbara (after our Grandmother).
He also threatened, in the event of having triplets, to name them It 1, It 2 and It 3.
Managed to talk him out of those. My future nieces/nephews will be grateful.

Okay my husband is a HUGE Starwars FREAK! So the other night as I was being forced to watch Starwars Episode 2 it dawned on me what names he has suggested for boys if we have a boy after we have this baby...which is a girl. He suggested to me the name Hayden Anikan(sp?). Now me not being a Starwars buff or actually seen any of the movies I was like,"Hey that's different. I kind of like that." So as we poped in that movie a couple of nights later I was watching the credits and looked at my husband and was all,"So you think your slick huh?" He was all,"What?" I was all,"Why don't we name our next son Hayden Anikan?"I said mocking him. He looks at me like he was busted. lol I was like,"Hayden is the actor that plays Anikan Skywalker (a.k.a. Darth Vador) you dork! Yeah so not ganna happen."

My dad wanted to name me Penelope. I like the name Maren, though. If you want, you can maybe convince him to use it for a middle name, or else call her by her middle name. She would kind of be named after you, though, so that's nice!

My husband liked Jadakiss for a girl once upon a time (I think he/she's a rapper...ick) but I got that right out of his system. Now he loves Mercedes...and I do too, but there's no budging him even if I changed my mind during pregnancy or after birth.
I am one of those people who will have a problem if "He/she doesn't look like a -insert previously desired name here-".
