Except Mercedes is a legitimate name. (The company, Mercedes Benz, was named for the daughter of the founder, much like Wendy's hamburgers, but better quality.) If it's a name before a car, I'm ok with it. Alexis was a name, and never a car, and I really don't understand Lexus at all. Lexi is a nickname that can be used with Alexis, Alexa, Alexandra, etc. I don't even really like Lexuses. (Lexii?)
