So I was looking at my younger brother's high school yearbook (he is now a sophomore in h.s.) last night because I was bored and came across a few interesting names.

There was a girl named Starrleen. Because of that I feel that I need to mention that I graduated with a girl named Starrdai.

Another interesting one was a girl named Murphy. I'm guessing her parents were fans of the show Murphy Brown. Haha.

Anyway, I find any name that has the word 'star' in it deplorable.
I don't think Murphy is that bad, I just would probably never use it.

Opinions?

yeah, any name with 'star' in it automatically makes me think of that trashy lady from White Oleander. notttt good.

I kinda like Murphy. I guess I have a thing for androgynous names for girls. *shrug*

I don't think Murphy is attractive on either sex. Yick.

My mom's old friend from high school is named Starr.

And I agree, Murphy is blah for both sexes. It's too much of a last name for me. (And it was my grandma's dog's name!)

Murphy is UUUUGLY.
Star names are usually pretty hippish, i love Anastarsia. I think i just made that spelling up though! Like Anastastia but the 'sta' is pronounced 'star'...ehh i dont know how that would be spelt!
Starleen is kinda hick.. darleen, jolene..ick. Other than that it reminds me of Joseph Stalin!

Murphy makes me think of Murphy's law. So much lame joke potential there

They sound like stripper names, the "Starr-" ones. I love Murphy for a boy and for a boy only. Reminds me of Boondock Saints. Although naming your child after that particular character is not exactly the best idea. =\

I went to school with a girl named Starleesha.

I think the "Star" names would have a potential to be pretty if they weren't so often used on hicks/prostitutes/strippers/white trash ... etc.

My friend named her daughter "Starlee". She's now two, with a head full of curly red hair, and is SO CUTE. It's so fitting.

I like Starlee, but not a fan of Starleen or Starrdai. Eugh.
