what do you think of MY name: Tamsin?

Feel free to say, 'EEWW!!1', 'Gross' or 'Not my thing'. I'm totally okay with honesty; I'd just like to know.

And what's better: Tamsin or Tam?

I read it in a book forever ago and I like it. I don't know if I would use it, but i really like it.
I think Tamsin is better than Tam.

My best friend growing up K-12 was named Tamsen. I'm so entirely used to the name it doesn't seem weird at all to me. I love it. And she got tons of compliments on her name all the time. (I was so jealous as a completely boring Jennifer...) I tend to prefer the spelling Tamsen just because I think -sen has a softer sound and doesn't have "sin" sticking out at you. But I'm probably just so used to seeing it spelled her way, that now Tamsin doesn't look right to me.

Calling her Tam or Tammy was putting yourself at risk to receive a glare-of-death. She hated them - I guess I kind of feel the same. Not a fan of Tam.

I like Tamsin. It's unusual and makes me think of the colour turquoise, or a precious stone. I don't like Tam, it reminds me of Tammy.. which i HATE!

I prefer Tamsin too, but most people call me Tam because
1) it's easier to remember
2) it's not so hard to pronounce.

I don't like the Tammies either. Reminds me of a... really vapid girl with an annoyingly high voice.

And people usually say Tam-sssin, but not so much of a hissing. It's not like Tam-SIN. There's actually no emphasis on any of the syllables.

And by the way: I actually really like the name Jennifer. Probably 'cause I've known so many nice Jennifers.

Tammy= DEFINITELY not a good name, in my opinion, as I said above.

Ummm... I only know that my mum got it from a book, and that's a contraction of Thomasina. (Personally, I like 'Tamsin' better than 'Thomasina'.)

Tamsen DOES look nicer, but I think it's pronounced pretty much the same way. Above I said it was like Tam-sssin but it's actually sort of got an 'e' if you think about it. Eh.
