There is a faculty member at my school named Dixie and everyone makes fun of her. It might be an ok NN for a child, but please give her something more substantial to use as an adult.

Children are not states. (Or cities for that matter). She could go by Allie, but she may not like it. I know a California who goes by Callie and she hates her full name.

I hva a cousin who many, many years ago said she wouls name her daughters Alabama and California. I think she has changed her mind since then though.
