Keilih = Kay-lee

I had no idea how to pronounce this name either when I first read it. It's the name of one of my daycare kids. In my file, I have to add (kay-lee) next to her name so that the other staff know how to pronounce it.

I also have a little girl named Etaion (A-tan), another name I had no idea how to say.

okay, this one is a perfect example of how names can be 'spelled wrong,' an argument that never dies.

the first one i can ALMOST see. i don't like it, i think it should be pronounced 'kay-leh' to make more sense but.

the second one is JUST WRONG. PHONETICS, PEOPLE.

PHONETICS ARE THE RULES OF HOW THINGS SHOULD BE PROUNCED.

THEY EXIST FOR YOUR SHARED REALITY AND MINE.

haha, thank you for sharing these, as fodder for my rant. :D i ran into similar crap all the time when i worked at a summer camp and i kind of wanted to fight the parents. ;)

Keilih looks like a sad mangled version of "ceilidh," which is a Gaelic dance party. I think Keilih might be marginally, marginally better..?

I love that you had to add a note about it.

Etaion could be a version of Etain, but that's pronounced e-tane.
