Sep. 28th, 2006 12:42 amHi, I'm new here. Not TTC or anything for quite a while yet, just interested in interesting names.
I was walking in a graveyard last night and saw the name Lena Victorine on one of the headstones.
I'd never heard of Victorine before but apparently it means victory. What do you think?
Also what do you think of names with similar sounds in the middle generally? (I'm guessing it's L-ee-na Victor-ee-n,
any other ideas?)
And what do you think of first and last names with the same first letter like Lena Lastname?
And what could be a nickname for Victorine apart from Vicky or Tory?

Date: 2006-09-28 12:42 am (UTC)Some alliterative names I like, but it depends on the letter. Sometimes I think it sounds stupid. They often occur in fictional characters such as Peter Pan, Peter Piper, Mickey Mouse...
I think I like them for A names.

Date: 2006-09-28 04:23 pm (UTC)I think alliterative first and last names are ok, but not first and middle because it doesn't.. really flow. I guess it depends on the vowel sounds. Helena Hodgins, for example, sounds nice to me. Henrietta Henderson, on the other hand, does not. =\

Date: 2006-09-28 04:52 pm (UTC)Esmé Marissa Madison was my number one name forever, i love the M sounds together.
Double initials bug me a bit though, i was nearly Lucy L*****, glad I wasn't.
