(no subject)

Hi all,
I just joined the community and I'm after a little help.
See I'm due to have my little boy in 6 weeks, and I've called him Duckling my whole pregnancy. Thing is, now its getting closer to him being born, and I still have no real feelings for any names. We have decided to have his middle name as Robert, after my Fiance's late Grandfather, but we were thinking of having two middle names. My Fiance likes the name Jordan, and I dont have a problem with it, so I'm starting to get attached to it. I'm dissapointed that I cant find a name that just 'clicks' with him.
Any how, after a bit of a fiddle with names I have come up with these:

Jordan Robert Noah Fry
Jordan Robert Isaiah Fry
Jordan Robert Sebastian Fry

Which, if any do you you prefer and why?

None of these are set in concrete. Hell even his first name isnt set in concrete. The only thing we are 100% sure of is that one of his middle names is going to be Robert. I really like the name Noah, as it means peaceful, but Noah Fry sounds a little wierd to me. I like Jaison too, but cant seem to make it go with anything.

Please help me find my Duckling a name!
I asked my friend what he thought of Jordan and he said it sounds more like a black persons name. What do you think?
If it helps, my name is Lisa Marie Gierveld and my Fiance's name is Timothy Wayne Fry.

Thanks,
Lisa 34weeks :)

Welcome! and Congrats! I love baby boys! I also love the name Jordan. Jordan Robert is an excellent combination and I definetly think you should use it. Jordan is a name that works well for both babies, adolescents and adults. With the strong middle name of Robert it sounds sophisticated and manly.

Im not a fan of double middle names but if you go with a double use Jordan Roberth Noah Fry or Jordan Robert Sebastian the middle one is eh sounding.

Okay firstly 'black persons name' might be offensive to some.
I think it's pretty multicultural. Naming your child D'Quan might be a different matter though.
Jordan is a bit tacky and i think of it as more feminine anyway, probably because of the v famous glamour model with huuuuge breasts (england)
I absolutely love Noah Robert Sebastian Fry/Sebastian Robert Noah Fry

I dont think Noah sounds weird with your surname.
congratulations anyway, i find that boys names are so much harder to *love* than girls names!

I like Jordan. I don't think of it as a black person's name, where I am I haven't met any black people named Jordan. The only person I know named Jordan is Jewish :) I like Jordan Robert Isaiah... It flows very well and also has the multiple Biblical names, which is neat.

Ew on the Jaison. I think the names you have listed are great.. each and every one of them. My personal fav is Noah. I love that name, and I think it looks and sounds just fine. :) 6 weeks goes by fast.. so get to pickin :) and good luck with the new babe. :)

I'm not overly fond of Jordan on a boy but it's ok if a little overdone. Of your combos, I like Jordan Robert Noah & Jordan Robert Isaiah. I really like Noah very much and don't think it sounds weird with your last name at all.

when I was pregnant we called my daughter Duckling sometimes too. it got a bit out of control actually when it came to us getting gifts bc everyone thought it would be SO cute to give us duck stuff. which it was for a little bit, but after a certain point, what the heck do you do with 999 rubber duckies???? and I got kind of sick of all the yellowness of clothes/blankets etc. ;p

::grin:: I collect rubber ducks, so I say "You put 'em on shelves on the wall." I don't have 999, though, just about 600.

Hey Lisa :)

Jordan is nice. Of your combos I like Jordan Robert Noah. Because it's a bit shorter and I prefer the name Noah. I think Noah Fry sounds fine!
Are there really no names that you like? Perhaps if you post and ask people to post their favourite names then you could get an idea of some, or look through lists of names online (though that gets a bit boring).
Anyway, some suggestions:
Luke/Lucas
Harry
Isaac
Benjamin
Kellen
Dylan
Max
Ezra
Jacob/Jake
Jesse

Benjamin Robert is nice, so is Jesse Robert.

I've known a black girl, a white girl, and a white boy all named Jordan. Jordan seems to cover all the bases. Alhtough the girl I know is "Jordyn".

Jordan is a nice name. Jordan Robert Fry is very nice, all on its own.

Makes me think of the author "Robert Jordan" :S

I really like Noah Robert Fry :).
