Today there were two birth announcements at church. Our ministers wife had her baby...

They named her Melaina Rose (Melaina is the greek form of Melanie) - At first I didnt like it at all but mainly becuase her last name starts with M as well and has lots of syllables.

The Second was a family in the church who had a baby girl also named: Haley-Kate Elizabeth ... its a cute name I suppose

Haley-Kate is OK, but kind of sounds like allocate or some other word I can't think of right now ending in -cate. Melaina is pretty, I really don't mind alliterative names, especially with staring with M.

Melaina Rose is beautiful, but I don't think I would have used it if my last name started with an M.

When I first read it, I thought maybe it was a typo of Melina (Mel-ee-na) like the actress, Melina Kanakaredes, which I absolutely, 100% adore.

why double first names? Haley is a stupid spelling.
Melaina is kind of ugly imo.
