I know kids named Kelt (boy) and Emerald (girl).
What do you think?

I love the name Emerald for a girl, but Kelt makes me think of a weird combo of kelp and kilts, lol.

I was just about to say it sounds like a cross between felt and kilt to me.

I love Kelton for a boy. I'm pretending the boy you know is named Kelton, instead of just Kelt. Kelt is terrible.
Emerald is.. different. Not bad, just different.

I know a woman called Emerald who goes by Emi and seems to try to hide her real name. I actually like it on her, though, which is surprising because it's not a name I would ever ever like.

I grew up with a girl named Emerald (I'm 20 if anyone's curious) so that sounds normal to me. I think it's a really pretty name.

Kelt sounds like a painful noise to me- I don't like it.

Kelt reminds me of Celtic.
I know quite a few strippers that go by Emerald. ;)

I don't like Kelt, but Emerald is a total guilty pleasure for me. I love it. :)

I love Emerald for a girl but Kelt seems a little strange ocean-ish to me.

Kelt sounds like someone wanted an Irish-Celtic sounding name and got creative with the spelling. Emerald is lovely, though I'd never be brave enough to use is. I don't see why it's any different then the other Gemstone names, such as Ruby, Pearl, Opal..this one just doesn't sound so old-ladyish.

Kelt is weird.
Then again.. I wanted to name my son Colt.

Emerald reminds me too much of the Wizard of Oz.
She might as well have been named Dorthy.

There was an 8th grader at the school my husband taught at last year named Colt. He was a freaking cool kid! Loved him to pieces, so the name Colt gives me warm fuzzies! I also know a 3 year old named Colter. I cant say that I like his name.
