Geet- means melody in indian. Geeta... unfortunatly its way too easy to turn that into geek..

Ananda- spiritual bliss
Aloki- Brightness
Keyuri- amulet
Jack- most popular name in england 10 yrs running, Jack Andrew C. init. would also spell jac. *shrugs*
Kalavati- one who is artistic
Kalini flower
Pariyat- flower

i like the name Ananda, but the dog in the 'wrinkle in time' series is named that, i associate it with dogs?

(okay, and i like Elspeth too, but it's SO a witchname. i don't see a problem with this. :))

I kind of like Ethelda. Never heard it until now, but it's kind of nice. :) I like Cade (not the Kaede spelling though) - is this a boy or girl?

I went to school with someone named Geetha and then had a roommate named Geeta. I guess it's a pretty popular name.

Kalavati reminds me of Kalamata olives. LOL

I call my grandmother Oma. It's German for grandma. And I believe it means "mother" in Korean, but I'm not positive on that one.

I think most people would pronounce Sachet as Sa-SHAY, as in a ittle bag used to hold potpourri, which will lead to a lot of issues as the kid grows up..

Lolita is a rather unfortunate I didn't believe it was indian for Ruby, so I had to look it up, took me a while but I found a site that listed it. But I gurantee that unless little Lolita is growing up in India, people aren't going to buy "it's indian for ruby!!" and instead think of the famous disturbing book.

I actually really like Dorothy and Tara, although since I found Tara listed as an indian name somewhere, I doubt I'm pronouncing it the same way. LOL

I think naming a child Lolita in an country that is not India is just going to invite comparisons to the book. Lalita might be better. I think that's Punjabi.

Indira is very pretty and I also like Tara and Kala. Sachet, I agree with heyitsrebecca, is probably going to be pronounced more like Sashay.

Moria I will forever associate with Tolkien. And since it's not a particularly nice place in Tolkien's books, I don't think I'd want to name a child that.

I like Ethelda. Elspeth is a shorter form of Elizabeth if I'm right. Doesn't sound witchey to me but oh well. XD
