so i was thinking about names and was wondering what do you guys think of place names? i mean  i like 'Dallas' for a girl, and 'Dakota' for a girl, but they're both pretty popular, I also like 'Virginia'

oh and I also get a lot of names from books, like  i got 'Caitlan' from a book and "Brenton' (but it tends to remind me of crackers), also some other names that i like that i found in books are:

  • Kiahna
  • Jasmin
  • Kiernan
  • Alec

So what do you think place/book names yay or nay?

I know a girl named Virginia... but everyone calls her Ginny. I'm not a huge fan of place names, the only ones I *really* like are Cheyenne and Georgia.

The only book name I sort of like from your list is Kiernan. <3

Place names are super trendy right now. Brooklynn and Madison are both in the top ten. "Book names" are not my personal style.

Jasmin is nice but isn't Dallas a boys name? Names after places is cool but it's getting kinda trendy like Dakota, Paris and Brooklyn. But I do like the names Texas (for a girl, I don't know really) and Laramie for a boy (it reminds me of the ciggarette brand in The Simspons)

I know a girl whose name is Dallas. I'm not a terribly big fan of the name for either sex though. My mom's name is Virginia and everyone calls her Ginny. My dad calls her Gin.
The only place names i KIND OF like are Cheyenne and Dakota.

I'm not a big fan of most place names, especially as they're getting more popular. Of the rest of the names, I like Alec. It's on our list. I like Kieran, but with Kiernan, the first n sounds too harsh/forced(?) to me.

I kind of like place names, but wouldn't use any because there just aren't any that are special to me. They seem a bit trendy too, and I'd rather not use trendy names.

I like that there is obviously a special meaning and significance to book names. My favourite is Atticus (from 'to kill a mocking bird')
Though obviously the names should have good connatations. Wouldn't take kindly to being named after a murderer or something like that.
