Ok so we're having a little girl, due Feb 2. We have managed to come up with 1 name, Lynn, but not anything to go with it and don't know if it should be first or middle. Anyone have any suggestions? (We are avoiding variants of Emily as that is my name, and our son is a "the third" so we thought two duplicate names would probably not work so well)

I think of Lynn as a middle name, but I enjoy it as both. I have it (with an E) on my list.

I'm so bad at coming up with suggestions.

I like Lynn as a first name. It's my middle name, but I have to admit that as a middle name it kind of seems like a filler because it's so common. It's not very common as a first name, though, which is nice.

Lynn would be a great first name and very refreshing to see.

Lynn Amelia
Lynn Arielle
Lynn Sophia
Lynn Gabrielle
Lynn Abigail
Lynn Francesca
Lynn Isabel
Lynn Josephine

It's a perfectly fine middle name as well, just more common. I really like the idea of using it as a first name :)

I always think of "Lynn" as a filler name. How about using a first name with "Lynn" in it? Then you can honour your aunt and still give your baby a "not-so-bland" name? Just an idea.

Some ideas:
Madalynn
Rosalyn/Rosalin/Rosalind (i love this name... it's classy and cute at the same time, works well for all ages)
Avlynn
Caitlin
Brooklyn
Evelyn
Jacqueline/Jaclyn
Gwendolyn
Jocelyn

My vote goes to "Rosalind"

How about:

Lynn Georgia.
Lynn Elaine.
Lynn Amara.
Lynn Honora.
Lynn Alette.

I liked the vowel sound following Lynn. That and I just love the name Georgia.

My first name is actually Lynne (yes, with that lovely "e") and my middle name is Mary. I honestly don't know of too much that goes with it.

The one thing that sucks with the name Lynn or Lynne, though, just to keep in mind... My whole life people have assumed it was a short-form for something, and thats why my parents put the "e" on it. I have been called Linda and Lindsay sooooo much, and it drives me bonkers! I was constantly asked in school "So what's your name short for??" Just something to keep in mind... :)
