[Poll #823569]
Do you think any of my names are good? any awful? be honest.

[identity profile] tiffrobyn.livejournal.com 2006-09-18 01:50 am (UTC)(link)
I realllly like Micah. Not at all a fan of Jarom.

[identity profile] heyitsrebecca.livejournal.com 2006-09-18 03:28 am (UTC)(link)
I grew up LDS, and I didn't get it. =X

And I read ahead to the pronciation, but I think outside of Utah, a lot of people would call him Jerome. That was my first thought when I saw it.

[identity profile] sotypical42483.livejournal.com 2006-09-18 04:00 pm (UTC)(link)
ahh I used to know two brothers named Levi and Micah, they were LDS... guess that explains it.

[identity profile] ashadelic.livejournal.com 2006-09-18 01:56 am (UTC)(link)
I love Micah too, but I'm bias! Micah Aaron is my husband's name. =)

Titus Aaron and Elijah Malachi are two of my favorite boy names.

[identity profile] x-lostinyou.livejournal.com 2006-09-18 12:35 pm (UTC)(link)
I ♥ Ezekiel. It's our #1 name as of right now.

[identity profile] ashadelic.livejournal.com 2006-09-18 02:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Yea, Elijah is around top 50 names for 2005. That's the only thing that makes me hesitant to use it.

[identity profile] bloomingtulip.livejournal.com 2006-09-18 01:57 am (UTC)(link)
I voted for Vincent Jarom because it flows well, but I prefer the spelling of Jarome.

[identity profile] bloomingtulip.livejournal.com 2006-09-18 02:01 am (UTC)(link)
oh ok. how is jarom pronounced?

[identity profile] bloomingtulip.livejournal.com 2006-09-18 02:04 am (UTC)(link)
I didn't say you were making up a name- I just didn't realize that one existed. It's not my style, but it's not horrible or anything.

[identity profile] lavandersparkle.livejournal.com 2006-09-18 02:18 am (UTC)(link)
I don't like any of these names except Levi.

[identity profile] washironfucketc.livejournal.com 2006-09-18 02:28 am (UTC)(link)
Ethan is quite trendy. It's like in the top 25. I love love love the name though.

Heh my son's name is Aedan. Quite trendy, but named after my great grandfather.

I love Levi! Vincent is also nice, but hard for me to picture on a small child.
Micah is fine, and I'd go ahead and cross Jarom off the list. Sorry.

[identity profile] heyitsrebecca.livejournal.com 2006-09-18 03:36 am (UTC)(link)
o.O
I wasn't trying to be rude.
You're the one who asked for honest opinions, remember?

If you wanted everyone to tell you how fabulous your names are, you should have just asked for that. I don't think it's fair to specifically ask to hear honest opinions, even if someone thinks they're awful, and then be all mad about it.

[identity profile] heyitsrebecca.livejournal.com 2006-09-18 03:40 am (UTC)(link)
Exactly. And if you think Jarom is the best name ever.. go for it.

Believe it or not, I was trying to be nice about the fact that I don't like it. I could have said, "Holy crap, that's heinous. Your kid will hate you for life!!!!111!eleventy1!!!"
I just gently suggested thinking of something else.

If I read your tone wrong, then I apologize.

[identity profile] heyitsrebecca.livejournal.com 2006-09-18 04:14 am (UTC)(link)
I'm chilled. ;) I never meant to come across as being bitchy or anything. Theat's the trouble with the internet, tones are hard to interpret sometimes. So I apologize if I came off as rude.

[identity profile] katiedarling.livejournal.com 2006-09-18 05:36 am (UTC)(link)
I had to go with Ethan Jarom, since both names were on your list. I really like the name Ethan, and it sounds good with Jarom, in addition to having a scriptural significance for you.

[identity profile] katiedarling.livejournal.com 2006-09-18 05:37 am (UTC)(link)
Note: I like Ethan Micah, but I'm not fond of Micah Ethan. Something about the way it flows.

[identity profile] katiedarling.livejournal.com 2006-09-18 05:40 am (UTC)(link)
Gah. Reading above, I see you only want to use Ethan as a middle name. I suck at life, and must now go with Jerom Ethan.

[identity profile] katiedarling.livejournal.com 2006-09-18 06:14 am (UTC)(link)
haha. Good point. And even THAT is technically alterable!

[identity profile] katiedarling.livejournal.com 2006-09-18 05:41 am (UTC)(link)
Spent all weekend in the hospital. That sucked. But otherwise..... Yeah, actually, pretty sucky today. How are you?

[identity profile] katiedarling.livejournal.com 2006-09-18 05:48 am (UTC)(link)
The short version: I hadn't kept down any food since Wednesday. I still haven't, but they sent me home anyway, because I was at least keeping down liquids. I was supposed to go back to the hospital if I started throwing up again. I started again, but I have a doctor's appointment in like nine hours, so I'm going to try to just wait it out.

[identity profile] katiedarling.livejournal.com 2006-09-18 05:54 am (UTC)(link)
IVs are TEH EBIL! I have a bruise all the way to up my arm. :(

It's weird. With the hyperemessis, there was no rhyme or reason to the vomitting. In the last week it's been literally 15-30 minutes after I eat, and only then (with two exceptions). So... I dunno.

[identity profile] x-lostinyou.livejournal.com 2006-09-18 12:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Haha, that's a lot of Oliver's in the suggestion part.

[identity profile] krosp.livejournal.com 2006-09-18 01:12 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't like Jarom William, they both end with an "um" sound and have two syllables with the first one stressed, so it sounds like a person limping. But I'm also biased because I don't like the name William.

I picked Micah Robert. Micah was my favourite name on your list, but I find it hard to follow Micah with a name that starts with a vowel, it's just harder to say...Levi is pretty good too. Otherwise, I don't particularly like Jarom, and I dislike Vincent.

[identity profile] sotypical42483.livejournal.com 2006-09-18 04:00 pm (UTC)(link)
I didn't vote because I didn't like any of your names, sorry :/ They aren't awful, but... I don't know. None of them did anything for me.

[identity profile] sherball.livejournal.com 2006-09-18 06:05 pm (UTC)(link)
I personally hate the name Vincent, an old association to a yucky boy in grade school. Yes I said Yucky! hehe

I love levi, Ethan, and Micah. Not wild about Robert and William, but are OK as middle names. :) Like I said in the poll part.. I would prefer Jerome to Jarom..

Is Jarom an ethnic name? or a you-neek way of spelling Jerome? :)

[identity profile] coconutchica.livejournal.com 2006-09-19 01:14 am (UTC)(link)
I voted for Vincent Ethan but think that Ethan Vincent sounds much nicer.

Jarom is definitely nms. (I also thought you didnt like J names?)
