i almost always prefer the french pronouncuation over the english one

theres only one exeption; my own name; Jennifer.
I HATE IT when my Belgian(Frenchspeaking) grandma calls me; Jennyyyyféééér.

I seriously love French names, esp at mn's. I love this list except Gemma (which I thought was Italian!) and Amia just wouldn't sound right the way Americans speak.

and any '-ene' names just scream bogan to me.

I love Aida. Makes me think of the opera and the musical.

But I don't know if I would use it for one of my children because it would be too often mispronounced. I think people would pronounce it like Adah rather than Ah-YEE-da.
