Hi!

What does everyone think of Lily Rose (or Lily Elise) for a girl, and Nicholas James for a boy? I'm having a broody moment. :)

Lily Rose is Johnny Depp's daughter. It's super pretty, but also kind of repetitive (in Hebrew the words are the same). Lily Elise is REALLY lovely!

I like Nicholas James but it's kind of common for me.

I like Lily.. sorta. It doesn't seem to have much substance to it. I imagine a Lily being a waif-like frail little thing without much personality. Of course, I've never known a Lily, so that could change. If I were going to use it, I'd use it as a nn for Lillian.
Lily Rose *sounds nice.. then I realize they're two flowers.. which is a little weird. But I named my kid Ivy Violet, so who am I to talk? LOL
I don't like Elise, unless it's got signifigance, it just seems filler.
Nicholas James is very nice, but I detest the nn Nicky.

Lily Rose is pretty, but i'll bet Lily Rose is the most popular combo for Lily. I know many, it's vry flowery but i dont think that's a bad thing. It's Johnny Depp's little girl, good taste! I prefer Lily Elise though.
Nicholas James is fine, not my cup of tea though.

Lily Rose is beautiful, but so common. Rose is such a common filler middle name (along with grace). Lily Elise would be better. And actually I prefer Lilia to Lily, it's a bit less common.

I LOVE Nicholas James. Two of my favorite boys names combined :)

Very mixed opinions here indeed! I do agree that two "flowery" type names can be a bit much, and Rose as a middle name is often used as filler. James is a wonderful boys name, and I think we'll end up going with that if we have a son - we're TTC now. Another name I have always loved is Victoria Elisabeth, except not with the nickname Vicky.

I'm with you.. I love the name Victoria, but hate the nn Vicky. So I'd probably steer clear of using the name unless I forced the kid to onlyuse the full name. EVER! hehe

I think they're both insanely boring. Especially Lily Rose. =/ Everybody is naming their girls Lily now and Rose is such a filler. Boring! I can't wait for the Lily explosion to end.

Lily and Elise are both pretty individually, but the names have too many repeated sounds to be complementary, I think ("lee lee ee lee ss")

Hmm, what about Elise as a FN? I think it's nice, but I really can't stand another Rose or Lily. They are just so bland.

Nicholas James is fine. Waaay to common for my taste, but I have no other complaints.

I like them both.. but some people would ick at the double flower name.. I like Lily Elise better, I think. I love the name Nicholas and it's on my short list.
