The first combo flows better. Two one-syllable names in a row sounds choppy and awkward.

Of the two I'd have to say Clay Michael is better. Clay Lee is too short and choppy and it sounds like Clayly or something LOL.

Clay Lee kind of sounds like Kayleigh with an extra 'L' thrown in there.

Clay Michael. Lee just sounds rather...blah. And like a filler middle name. Besides, Clay Lee sounds like it's all one name - Claylee and that reminds me of Kayleigh.

...then you could use Clay as a nn. but if I have to pick between the two I'm gonna continue the Clay Michael vote. Clay Lee just doesn't work.

im not a big fan of clayton, but clay is cute for a child.. and a good, stable name for an adult.

I thought of that, but if it is a boy.. im honoring my grandfather with his middle name instead.
The next child will probably be Gage Lee (if its a boy)
