Hey. I'm new here. My name is Meredith. I saw the community on a friend's community list. I'm not pregnant right now, but I am wishing I was and I like thinking about baby names. :) I had a daughter a few years ago and her name was Brenna Rose. Anywho.. hi.

*edit* Thought I might as well ask a question.
What do you all think of Mallory for a boy? And how about.. I don't know.. changing a foreign word or name, or even a non-foreign word or name, to make it more user-friendly? I was thinking it'd be neat to have a middle name be after the month the baby is born in. I was also trying go think of a middle name to go with a first name I have in mind. Kinda convoluted, but I was thinking January, which made me think Enero(Spanish for January), but for a girl I would want it to be Enera. I looked it up hoping I was a name, but it's not that I can see. I like it though. Opinions?

I have met a girl named January before. She usually went by Janny, but I like the name January a lot!

But - although I usually don't like "made up" names - I think Enera's all right too.

I don't like Mallory for a boy. It could probably work as a MN though if you are highly attached to it.

I don't really like the whole months idea (or the changing foreign words in general unless they are already names). I would hate to be sitting in spanish class and everyone realize my name came from a month. That could be just me though.

Honestly, I dont like Mallory period, but especially not for a boy. I think the meaning (unlucky) has a lot to do with me not liking the name in gerenal. It seems to be one of those boy turned girl names that completely made the transformation to me! (Like Courtney and Mackenzie, I can only think of them as female names) If it's one you're dead set on, I'd use it as a middle name (like the previous poster suggested).

I like the name January. I dont like Enera. For me, it has little to do with taking the name from the Spanish word for January and making it feminine. I just dont like the sound.

Mallory is ok.. but I think of it is a female name, more..
I'd recommend not putting a Spanish middle name with it, because in Spanish "Mal" means bad.

Hrm.. middle name after month baby is born.. Mine would be March.

Enera is OK.

I mean my future baby's middle name would be March, in that case..

:) Yeah, I think of it as typically a girl-name, too, but I thought it might be cool for a guy. Maybe I just think "Quinn Mallory" from Sliders is hot. :)

I guess I was kind of ambiguous, but I don't plan on using the two together. I just don't like sharing the name I have picked out. :) LoL.. everyone would probably hate it anyway, I know my mom will.

OMG! Sliders! NO ONE knows that show. I love it to pieces. I miss it... I was so devastated when they cancelled it... haha.

My husband and I have been netflixing it. :)

I also like Enera, but I would not pair it with Mallory because they don't sound good together imo. I like Enera with most other names though:

I can't see Mallory on a boy, but I do like January for a name.

Enera is okay. Give it time and it might grow on me. January is cool too. Out of the two I think Enera is prettier.

I'm not a fan of the name Mallory at all, it makes me think of Enid Blyton. I don't really think it would work on a boy; a little too feminine.
