Yeah, after rolling it around in my mouth a few times, I'm not really a fan. I can't pinpoint exactly what image it conjures up in my head, but I don't care for it.

I've always loved Barnabas, and Barnaby is pretty close. I especially love the nickname Barnes. It doesn't hurt that I knew a really neat, artistic guy named Barnabas. His name just seemed to suit him.

it makes me think of bartleby the scrivener which may or may not be a good piece of literature to evoke haha
i personally think it's cute as heck for a kid but an older dude with that name may just read as too old school / possibly stuck up? i like to imagine my kid in x profession and imagine what my reaction would be like if a resume with a 40 year old with that name came across my desk. or a 21 year old recent uni graduate. like, what kind of personality would i imagine goes along with a name like that? idk
