New Duggar Baby

Jill (Duggar) Dillard had her baby and named him Israel David.

1) I dont like it.
2) I hope she doesn't follow the same stupid formula as her parents and brother and give all her kids the same first initial, because there aren't a whole lot of good "I" names out there and they all kind of sound alike.

They've said in interviews before that they're not planning on doing the Duggar Initial trend. Josh/Anna surely have to continue with the M's, though.

Yeah, the girl name they'd picked out was Saelah? Selah? Something very soft and pretty. I don't hate Israel. I think it's a little...pretentious. Like, look at us, we're naming our bb after the holiest of holy lands.

But...you do you, Dillards.

Selah is very pretty!

Israel screams girl name

In the Bible, Jacob's name is changed to Israel after he wrestles with G-d, so it seems more male to me.

I wonder if she'll do same middle name initial, to change it up?

For a normal person, Israel might be okay. But with the Duggars and their beliefs, it really rubs me the wrong way.

I wholeheartedly agree

That's what I was thinking too. I don't particularly like the name on anybody, but just knowing about the Duggars and what they believe, Jill using that name kind of skeeves me out.

I really like the first name, not so much the middle name. I knew an Israel in middle school and I always liked the name.
