What's the first thing that comes to mind when you hear the name Allona? Am I the only one that instantly thinks of Honey Boo Boo??? Trying sooooo hard to talk my SIL out of the name!

Didn't think of that at all but I've never watched the show and wouldn't know that there's an association. I'm thinking since it's not airing anymore (I think?) that in the future the whole honey boo boo thing won't be an issue for a child born now.

I have never seen that show. My first thought was it's the name of a character in a fantasy novel I read
years ago. It's an okay name. Not my style.

I pronounced it Al-LONE-uh and thought that was a really bad name for a girl. Kids would tease her about being all alone.

Boo boo is alanna though. I would pronounce this alonna. Like alone-a. I think both are not very good names imo

I've never seen the show, so I don't have associations with it. I pronounced it 'a-lone-a' when I saw it, but maybe it's 'a-lawn-a'? Either way, I think it's a pleasant name. It reminds me of 'Alondra', which I think is the Spanish work for 'lark'. That would be the first thing that comes to mind.

Honey Boo Boo's name is Alana, and in my head I hear a-LOH-na, so no, I didn't think of her. But even if the name she wanted was Alana, the first thing I think of is a girl who lived on my floor freshman year of college. to me it's just a name, no negative associations.

I don't think many people would associate it with Honey Boo Boo, just like most people wouldn't assume the name Christina is for Christina Aguilera or George is for George Clooney. It's a pretty common girls' name.

i didnt associate it with honey boo boo at all. her name is Alana which is pronounced uh-lawn-uh, this name i pronounced like uh-lone-uh but i dont like it very much either way. i actually prefer Alana but i think it might bc there was a girl in my h.s. class with the same name..i always thought it was a pretty name.
