Bad spelling of Lachlann, which is Scottish. I know a sibset: Lachlann, Ewan, and Isla, with a very Scottish last name, too!

I would assume its Lachlan they they just added a y to make it look more feminine.
Its very popular in Australia, the #11 boys name last year

The SSA website says Lachlan is #991 for boys & 5 girls born last year called Lachlyn.

I've seen the last name O'Laughlin, and O' means "the son of" which means what follows it must have been a first name at some point.
