I'm really into the mn Chanel.

my current favorite girl names are Ava, Mia, and Scarlett.

Ava Chanel Wakefield. I think it has some class, but obviously it's Coco Chanel's last name.

thoughts?

I really like that name, it is very pretty! :) It doesn't matter if its related to Coco Chanel, to tell you the truth I wouldn't have even thought about that link between the name. I think Ava Chanel sounds better that Mia Chanel, just my opinion... You use what YOU like....!

Honestly? I think Chanel is one of those names that sound like they're trying too hard to be classy. Ava, Mia and Scarlett are all pretty, though.

I really like Ava and Mia.
Chanel really does remind me of perfume, but I like Chantal/Chantel.

class isnt the exact word i would use to describe it. it reminds me of that story from some time ago about a woman screaming at her two kids named armani and gucci or whatever ridiculousness that was. trying too hard to be classy or "rich" sounding.

but i have to admit i do kind of like it with any of those three names as a middle.

Ditt a couple of the others who don't like it because it sounds faux-classy. To me it's like the names Crystal, Diamond, Tiffany... names that are trying to sound rich and pretentious but instead come off rather cheap. I think I'd feel the same about any fancy haute couture name being used on a child.

ITA. I was going to say it's like using Diamond as a name.

Chanel just screams "I'm trying to sound elegant! Look at me, I'm classy!" I think it's awful.

I think it sounds REALLY trashy. Sounds like you're trying too hard to sound very yuppy.

nonono, it sounds like you really AREN'T classy but think that by giving your kid a designer name they'll somehow become classy. I much prefer Coco.

I don't really like Chanel, but if you are going to go for it, I'd use a different spelling. For instance: Sionelle, or perhaps a similar name like Siobhan.
