Blake Lively has called her daughter James? There are so many fantastic girls' names, why do this?! To me, it just shrieks of wanting a boy.

I don't get it either. I really don't. Some boys names work great on girls, other really don't. James is one. Just no.

I've heard James on girls before... personally, I like it for a girl. *shrug* I always thought of it as unisex.

I have seen it before on girls and I do prefer James over Jaime or the other recent babies Wyatt/Lincoln

But unless she was named after/in honour of another James I didn't expect this to be their choice.

I remember when Jennifer Love Hewitt had her first baby, she named her Autumn James. So... that being said, although I don't like the name used on girls, I'd much rather it be a middle name, if James was going to be used then. But oh well... at least she can go by Jamie?

I HATE the name James because of a total asshole that I knew growing up (and sadly still know) being a James the Third. Also I feel like it's been growing more and more common and I don't really like that.

I actually don't hate it as much on a girl but I also am not fond of how common of a trend naming your girl James seems to be.

In conclusion, I guess it's just not my taste?

I was watching bates motel and one of the girls was named Bradley, which I kind of really like for a girl.
