soo me and my family watched a couple movies over the weekend (Jessabelle and Horns).

b4 watching Horns, i had never heard the name Merrin (i got the spelling from wikipedia, idk if that's the actual spelling or not of the character in the book) but since i've heard it, i kind of like it. altho i'd probably spell it M-a-r-e-n or M-e-r-y-n if i ended up using it.

i'm a huge fan of pretty much any -belle name esp Isabelle (Isabel) and Annabelle (Anabel), just to name a few, soo i can c why i'd be drawn to Jessabelle :) ppl were sayin that Jessabelle reminded them of Jezebel on imdb which i can understand bc it does kind of make one think of that name at 1st glance. i say it like Jess-uh-belle instead of Jez-uh-belle soo to me it sounds really feminine and pretty. and some ppl were thinkin it was a southern name but tbh i'm from the south and i've never heard the name b4.

wat do ya'll think??

I know a few Marens.

Jessabelle I think sounds like a made up/mashup name. Akin to renessme.

Merrin I've seen as a surname. I think Meryn/Merryn is nice

Yeah it looks a bit of a mashup and being -belle makes me think Southern, I prefer the sound of Jessamine (Jessa-meen or Jessa-mine) or Jessamy

I've definitely seen the name spelled Marin and Merryn.

Definitely looks like a mashup name &/or a 'creative' spelling of Jezebel. I personally really dislike it, and my first thought upon seeing the post title was also "Oh, another Duggar?"

I've seen Marin, which is a water-y name that I used for a sea-ruling character once. I like that spelling better. "Merrin" makes me think it's a fandom portmanteau for Merry/Pippen (aka Peregrin) slash in LotR.
