i've been reading the hunger games trilogy and i have found that i really like a few of the names..
Katniss
Peeta (maybe, i'm not sure if i like the name or the character lol)

Cinna (i'd probably use this on a girl tho)

Prim/Primrose
Finnick
Johanna

Rue
Cashmere (altho i dont kno if i'd actually use it)

Seneca (again i'd probably use this name for a girl)

Hazelle (i'm assuming it's pronounced like Hazel..which i like better)
Maysilee (i've been pronouncing it like Macy-Lee which i love the sound of)

Atala (i'm pronouncing it as uh-taw-luh, which might be wrong idk)

soo for those of you who have read the books wat are some of ur favorite names??

also i met a lady in the bathroom at walmart who had a newborn baby girl and i asked her wat her name was and she told me Donovan, which i'd never thought of for a girl but i really like on a boy..and i told her that was one of the names my hubby likes for a boy. she said she had originally wanted to spell it the masculine version but nobody thought that was a good idea (i personally think it is) soo she ended up spelling it D-a-w-n-o-v-i-n-n (i'm pretty sure she said "o" in the middle not "a" but either way, it's not as pretty as Donovan :/ )

My favorite is Hazelle. But I like Delly, Posy, Bristel, Bonnie, Rory, and Dalton.

i forgot about Bristel. i actually like that name too :) and i was back and forth on whether or not i like Bonnie bc i grew up with one so i always think about her when i hear the name. Dalton's not bad either.

i think the masculine name is perfectly fine on a girl bc it's got the "a" in it ::shrug:: if i'd been the girl i'd said i was naming my own child wat i want and spelling it however i like..i got the feeling she was pressured by her partner tho..but when i told my hubby about it he was like: "boy or girl, i'd still spell it the common way, that's just silly."

I love Katniss, to be honest. Primrose, Rue, and Cressida are lovely. Cecilia has long been a favorite mine and I've always liked Effie and Portia. Seneca on a girl is a guilty pleasure of mine and there's something I like about Maysilee.

For guy names, I'm a fan of Darius and...pretty much no other names from the book. Cinna's okay, I suppose.

Katniss has really grown on me since i've been reading the books. and being a katherine myself, i can appreciate it :) i think Rue is such a cute name and it reminds me of Blanche from the golden girls (the actress who played her was named Rue irl)..Effie never goes out of style, i knew a lady who was 100yrs old when she died named Effie and i c it on little babies today :) Seneca really has my eye esp for a lil girl and i just love Maysilee..

Darius is a name that my hubby really likes (bc of highlander). i'm with you on the boy names, i'm not loving too many of them and Gale is more suited for a girl imo..or maybe it's just bc i dont care for his character ::shrug:: and while i do like Cinna and it could probably work on a boy, i think it's more for a girl :)

A online friend has a 5 day old baby Cressida (not named after Hunger Games), I don't mind it but prefer Primrose.


I like Peta for a girl, I know one and she is the loveliest person. Peter is boring on boys but Peeta is a great character.

There is a presenter Livinia Nixon, its a very nice alternative for the so popular Olivia.

Dawnovinn doesn't look half as nice as Donovan. I like it my dad's half Irish.


Edit: I've know two girls with nn Effie, one was Stephanie the other Fiona. I thought they both suited it well

I really like Cressida, but I feel my view is biased due to Natalie Dormer playing Cressida and therefore I really really like Cressida. :X

I like a lot of the names too. I LOOOVE Cinna. I want a cat or a dog to name Cinna, I would totally name a kid Cinna(but not REALLY).

I also like Peeta, Rue and Seneca.

Katniss isn't bad.

I'm not too fond of Peeta. Maybe it's because of the word you get when you combine Peeta and Katniss, sort of like "Brangelina." Hahaha.

I like Primrose, Cressida, and Johanna. I kind of like Octavia and Rue, too. Not a fan of most of Suzanne Collins' names, tbh.
