Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard have announced the birth of their second daughter, Delta. Their first daughter, Lincoln, was born in March of last year.

I don't care for Lincoln, but I think that Delta is quite pretty.

WDYT?

fyi, Kristen told Jay Leno that Dax had always wanted to name his first son Lincoln, but when they had a daughter, they just decided to stick with it out of laziness.

Lincoln is so weird for a girl. I like Delta though.

Dax's Lincoln story uhh.

I think the airline would put me off using it in US though. But Delta Goodrem was my jam throughout my angsty teen years circa 2003. I like it a lot.

I think Delta is lovely. It's feminine but also strong. I like it a lot. Lincoln for a girl is bad and the story behind it is even worse. It's like they really wanted a son and were set on having one, and then they got a daughter instead and they couldn't even bother with finding a name for her. I just don't think that's nice :/

Personally, it's not my style. Then again, when Lincoln was born it wasn't my style either and now I'm smitten with it. I like that they're both real names. I like that they're both spelled in the typical spelling. As an educator who has to deal with fifteen hundred different spellings and eight children who go by first name-last name or first name-last initial, I've got few arguments over these names. Lincoln will probably only know few people with her name and probably never a female. Delta will probably also be one of the only Delta's she knows. And yet, I find that 100% better than the Jackson/Jaxon/Jaxxon/Jaxxsyn trends.

For me, baby names have become a check list.
Real name?
Regular spelling?
Do I know two or more children who are already named this?

If a name can meet those things, then I figure the child will probably be able to deal with being named that later in life.
