Also yesterday I saw a family in the store and thought I was hearing things, but was not... they had two girls a boy with them and the girls were Addison and Jackson, the boy was Marsden. Not 100% on the spellings.

Gladys does seem like an old lady name, but I also think of gladiolus flowers which are beautiful. Philip & William are very nice together.

Jackson for a girl... I've seen one or two girls called Jamieson/Jameson that too is a bit of a stretch but could nn Jackie?

I like some surnames as first names but Marsden it kind of bland to me

The first Jaxon I met was a little girl and I thought it was so cute and unique... of course she's getting close to ten now and the name annoys the heck out of me with all the Jaxxon/Jaxon/Jaxson/Jackson combinations I've seen. I feel so bad when that happens. It's a sweet little name and suddenly every second child has it. Same with Abigail.

Marsden is my newborn's first middle name :) I like it. Jayne with that y just seems off. And Gladys shouldn't make a comeback...

Is Jayne male or female though because all I can think of is Jayne Cobb from Firefly and I'm totally okay with that.

Had a think about it, I think its the James Marsden (Scott Summers) connection, I find him bland.

My style I do prefer surnames/unique names for middle. My godsons had a top 20 name but middle name is Patterson, his grandma's maiden name. Its distinguishing & sounds great.
