Weird, I thought for sure the name we're considering would be there (Henry) because it is so popular, but never thought Nicholas would be listed twice! Weird. It's my dad's name, I love it, but it doesn't exactly scream trendy in my ears.

To me, Nicholas is a name that has always been popular, and will always be popular. There will always be Nicholas's running around daycares.

Funny...maybe it is a regional thing? In my mind it is a classic name , like William or Alexander, but I've never actually met a little Nicholas! I have met a couple of Nicos (not short for anything) but not a Nicholas. And when my dad was growing up he was always the only Nicholas in his class.

But you're right, it *should* be extremely common. I just never run into them!
