It's a girl!!

Dh and I are expecting our first baby in December and it's a girl!! We are sooo excited, I've always wanted a girl first... But we are not as set on a name! Boy would have been Artem Elliott

We are trying to stick with a Russian first name and a family middle name, but these rules aren't definite.

Here are some contenders-

Alena Mae (current top runner, nn Lena)
Lena Elizabeth (I think Lena might sound like a nn on it's own?)
Inessa Elizabeth
Ksenia Elizabeth
Klara Elizabeth (is clara too popular?)

Other names I like for suggestions-

Florence isadora (loovvee this name so much and wish dh would let me use it, but he says it sounds like a name out of classic literature... Which I see as a good thing and he does not)
elizaveta (could use as a middle name to kill 2 birds with one stone- family name/ Russian name)
milena (not technically Russian so dh is against it)


Anyways- suggestions and opinions?

I'm Russian and admit I've never heard of Inessa. Ksenia and Alena would be my picks. My other Russian favorite are Nadia and Lydia.

Ya inessa does not seem to be a very common Russian name but does appear to be one as I've found it on several Russian name sites.

I really like Alena or Yelena, Inessa, Clara. Milena is close to Melena which means "black tarry stool" so I don't care for that one. I prefer Marina.

I also really like Nadia, Svetlana, Katya.
