Belated birth announcement, upon request

George Melville made his appearance May 31st. Grandma was suitably emotional to hear that he was named after her father, Mel, though I hear that some wine may have contributed to the happy tears. ;-) Big brother Henry, who is 3, is at times solicitous and indifferent. Overall, we're doing fine, and my mom has been a huge help.

Oh hooray!! Congratulations! I LOVE the name you picked! George is just so dashing, and Melville so literary. And I've never seen in a little George before who wasn't, you know, HRH Prince George. Are you calling him Georgie? Just George? Something else?

Just George (NO Georgie, much to my MIL's dismay), though I pronounce it the French way. I imagine he'll respond to both pronunciations, like our son Henry does.
