[identity profile] thegreylioness.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames

Found out we are having our third boy!

I love somewhat geeky names that sound "normal", our first two sons names are Colton and Joshua (JD).

My long list so far has these on them so you know my "style", do you have any recommendations?

Darcy
Nathan
Emmett
Murray
Ronan
Jory
Jamie
Byron
Arthur
Oliver
Aiden
Emry
Evin
Francis
Alan

What do you think is geeky about Colton or Joshua? Hope this isn't offensive, but those are about as ungeeky as it gets to me. (Only on LJ would I say "I don't mean to offend you, but that isn't very geeky." LOL)

I think from your list Nathan, Emmett, Aidan and Jamie fit the best.

I literally had never heard of Jory before and I'm guessing Evin is a spelling of Evan? Ditto Emry, I've seen Emery and Emory but not Emry.

I love Oliver.

I might add Brice or Rowan?

I quite like Byron, Darcy, Evin and Emry.

I haven't hear of Jory besides GOT, but I know a little boy Jonty. I prefer Rory.

Some others that might fit your style, Evander, Flynn, Leo, Miles, Theo, Rowan, Wesley.

Weirdly I know *two* people around my age (I'm 24) and both of them are Thomas Jory but one goes by TJ and the other by T.Jory.

That is weird. Definitely never seen it anywhere else, not even as a last name.
I went to school with two boys called Thomas William Reid. They were a few years apart but I thought it was pretty strange and cool.

One lived in my rez building when I was in college (T.Jory) and the other was my neighbour about four months after I graduated (TJ). I never would have known that was his full name if we didn't sometimes get his mail in our box.

And in even further weirdness, I was just reading through the local online newspaper for my hometown and saw a little girl I knew. One of the girls in the picture with her... Jory. Maybe it's a Canadian thing?

It seems that you like o as the first vowel?
Jory, Rowan will be the case.
Actually, I like Jamie and Evin.

Congrats!
Cooper was definitely the first thing that came to mind if you don't mind having two sons with the first same initial.
Otherwise Oliver is on my own shortlist so I'm biased!

The only one that seems kind of geeky is Jory. I like Nathan, Arthur, and Oliver.
