Cousin is having his third babe, his wife posted that if it is a  girl.... The name will be Hadley....  Nope. Nope. Nope.

Yes I saw it in True Blood but I remember from Uni Hemingway's first wife went by her middle name Hadley, I figured its a surname that made the transition to first.

Not a fan, but its better than the Harley trend.

Hadley just sounds SO unappealing to my ears. At work, we have an adorable little girl named Hadley, and I internally cringe every time I have to call her name, honestly.

I came here to say this! I have a friend with a daughter named Hadley, and while it's nms I think it's adorable for their little girl!

Me too! It sounds like a classic old British name to me.

I think at this point, my problem with current name trends is how utterly boring they are. Like there's nothing wrong with Hadley as a name, all things considered, but it just has no personality.

I agree. My husband's cousin just named her daughter Hadley, and I also find it pretty blah. And finding out it's from True Blood kills any shred of appeal that might have been left. (With no offense to the happy new parents, of course ;) ).

Ick, Hadley was a sketchy town near where I used to live. I like the Hemingway connection, but not enough to actually like the name. Although, Hadley > Harley. And it least she isn't spelling it Haddleighe or something equally horrendous!

I like Hattie as a nickname!

Hadley is a town near where I live, not sketchy. I suppose it's no different then naming your child Paris, London, Denver, Austin, Boston, Cheyenne, Savannah, Bronx, etc. Except those are all cities and not as boring.

Yeah, IA that Hadley (the town) isn't sketchy.

I actually don't mind it, but would probably prefer it for a boy.

It's not interesting, and quite trendy, but I could see using it as a middle name if somebody in the partnership really liked Hemingway. It's not bad.

A good friend of mine is naming her daughter Hadleigh Elizabeth... I'd rather Hadley, tbh.
